Ana Vidigal

Born in Lisbon, Portugal in 1960, where she lives and works. Ana Vidigal completed the degree in Painting at the School of Fine Arts of Lisbon in 1984. She received a scholarship from the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation (1985-1987). She did a Metal Engraving internship with Bartolomeu Cid at Casa das Artes [House of Arts] of Tavira (1989). She was a resident painter at the Museum of Contemporary Art – Fortaleza de São Tiago, Funchal (1998-1999). In 1995 and 2002, she was invited by the Lisbon Underground to create tile panels for the Alvalade and Alfornelos stations. She won the Maluda Prize in 1999 and the Amadeo de Souza Cardozo Prize in 2003. She held regular exhibitions since 1981. Her work is represented in several public and private collections. She was awarded the Revelation Prize at the III Cerveira International Art Biennale (1982).
