Eduardo Nery

Born in Figueira da Foz, Portugal in 1938, Eduardo Nery died in 2013. He had an extensive professional activity in the fields of painting, drawing, engraving, photography, tapestry, tiles, stained glass, mosaic, mural reliefs, urban floor design and color projects for facades in architectural sets.
He had more than 40 solo exhibitions in Lisbon since 1964, and participated in more than 300 group exhibitions in Portugal and abroad since 1958.
He won several prizes in Portugal, such as the Bordalo da Imprensa Prize (1995) and one of the national prizes Bento Pessoa Casino Figueira (2007). Abroad, he was distinguished with six awards in Italy and Spain. He was awarded the Jorge Colaço Municipal Prize for Tiles from the Lisbon Municipal Council in 1987, 1991, 1992 and 1995. He was awarded the Photography Prize at the III Cerveira International Art Biennale (1982).
