Zadok Ben-David
Born in Yemen in 1949, his family immigrated to Israel the same year. Zadok Ben-David studied at the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem (1971-1973), and in 1975 he studied Fine Arts at the University of Reading (England). However, the following year he settled in London, where he entered the St. Martin’s School of Art and obtained a degree in Advanced Sculpture. He taught Sculpture at the same school (1977-1982).
His first solo exhibition was at the Air Gallery in 1980. From 1982 onwards, he began to internationalize. In 1988 he represented Israel at the Venice Biennale. He has held exhibitions all over the world: Antwerp, New York, Amsterdam, Munich, Melbourne and Sydney, London, Tel-Aviv, Scheveningen, Augsburg, Paris, Seoul, Vila Nova de Cerveira, Turin, Singapore, among others.
He received the Grand Prize at the XIV Cerveira International Art Biennale (2007).
