Land of Miranda Museum

Situated in the historic centre of the city, the Land of Miranda Museum depicts the social and cultural life of a region with a strong identity. Its theme is essentially ethnographic and it seeks to describe the lifestyle of the population in terms in ancient times. Here you can also discover the importance and the specific nature of the Mirandese language and its role in the construction and recognition of the identity of the region. The collections in the museum are mainly linked to ethnography.

Bragança Castle

Casa de Camilo - Friúme

Come and discover the place where Camilo Castelo Branco lived during his time in Ribeira de Pena. It was here that the writer enjoyed his first years of freedom and today it serves as the point of contact with Camilo’s works, with Ribeira de Pena being ever present. It houses the permanent exhibitions “Camilo and Ribeira de Pena” and “Perspectives of Camilo” which introduce the visitor to the chamber of Camilo and Joaquina, his first wife.

Olive Tree and Olive Oil Museum

On the Olive Oil route you can find spaces where it is possible to discover the secrets behind Olive Oil from Trás-os-Montes. At the Olive Tree and Olive Oil Museum you will find out about the main trivia about the production of olive oil in the region about the characteristics, making it a unique product of Portuguese origin with Protected Designation of Origin (DOP). You will also find about the importance of this ingredient for the development of the city and you will end your visit, taking the opportunity to taste some of the delicacies made from the famous olive oil from Trás-os-Montes.
